Route Richard Coeur de Lion
The castles of Rochechouart, Montbrun, Châlus, Lastours, Jumilhac, Coussac, Ségur, Pompadour and the fortified church at Le Chalard once formed a defensive barrier in the south of the Viscounty of Limoges. This route, named after Richard the Lionheart who was killed in the siege of Châlus-Chabrol castle in 1199, follows the line formed by these castles.
